Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies when you use Campora's website, student onboarding, verification, Housing, messaging, campus and related services. By using Campora, you acknowledge the practices described here.

Depending on the features you use, we may collect:

• Google sign-in data: your name, email address and Google account identifier. Google account data is used only for authentication and account setup.
• Student profile data:details such as your name, college, campus, course, academic information, goals, interests, biography and profile photo.
• Verification data: your submitted student information, profile photo, verification status and live face-check verification video.
• Housing data: budget, move-in timing, preferred areas, room and flat preferences, lifestyle preferences, flatmate profile text, interests and mutual match activity.
• Communications: chats and messages sent through Campora, including edit or deletion status where supported.
• Uploads: listing, room, property or related images where those features are available.
• Technical data:notification state, timestamps, device or browser information, usage records, security events and diagnostic logs needed to operate and protect the service.

We use information to create and secure accounts, complete student verification, personalise Campora, provide Housing and campus features, calculate compatibility, enable student communication, deliver relevant notifications, respond to support requests, prevent fraud or misuse, enforce our terms and improve service reliability.

We do not use Google account data for purposes unrelated to authentication and account setup. We do not sell personal information.

Verification media is private and is reviewed only by authorised Campora personnel for student verification, fraud prevention and safety review. It is not displayed to other students as part of your public profile.

Face-check media may be retained for a limited verification and safety period, including while a review, appeal, investigation or legal obligation remains active. We do not claim immediate or automatic deletion where the current service does not guarantee it.

Information you choose for your student or Housing profile may be shown to eligible Campora students according to the feature's privacy and verification rules. Messages are shared with their intended participants and may be accessed by specifically authorised personnel for time-limited safety, fraud, harassment, misuse or support reviews where the service permits.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the service, investigate abuse, or respond to a valid legal request.

Campora uses Supabase for backend database, authentication and private storage services; Vercel for website hosting and delivery; and Cloudflare for DNS, traffic protection and related security services. These providers process information on Campora's behalf under their own security and data-protection commitments. Google processes the sign-in flow under Google's applicable policies.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide your account and requested features, meet safety and verification needs, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and context. Some records may be kept after account deletion where reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, audit, dispute or legal purposes, and are then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.

You may update available profile fields, pause applicable Housing visibility, or request deletion of your Campora account. To request account or data deletion, contact us at support@thecampora.in. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or ask questions about how your data is handled. Some requests may be limited where retaining information is legally or operationally necessary.

We use technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, including authenticated access, private media storage, role-based review access, database access controls and audit measures. No online system is completely secure, so users should also protect their account and promptly report suspected misuse.

Campora is intended for students and is not directed to children under 16. If applicable law requires parental or guardian consent for a younger student or imposes a higher minimum age, the student may use Campora only when those requirements are satisfied. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided information improperly.

We may update this policy as Campora develops or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice where an important change warrants it. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy.
